It's funny how time can pass both fast and slow at the same time. In a little less than two weeks I will send my first child to kindergarten, all day, five days a week. As much as I hate to admit it, we are both ready. So much so that we are counting down the days. But, having a lot of fun with what's left of summer too.
It has been a strange summer for me, there have only been four days hot and humid enough for me to wish we had air conditioning to turn on. (We camped out in the basement instead as it was 10 degree cooler down there.) Having spent most of my life in the warm muggy summers in Indiana and a few years in the heat of Missouri, Michigan was a nice change. Although, I feel like I'm still waiting for it to get warmer. Tomatoes are just now starting to turn red in my garden. We have had loads of grean beans, and we even got to pick a couple buckets of cherries for free! They will be a welcome taste of summer when the snow comes this winter. Another exciting thing is all the wonderful lettuce we got form the garden, all summer!
The kids have had a chance to spend time with grandparents, we went to the fair in Aaron's home town, and we went to the Detroit Temple. It was so much fun to walk on the temple grounds with the children. I think they enjoyed it too.
