The Christmas Letter that Isn't

Every year we try to take a family picture in front of the Christmas tree...at least I like to. It usually involves pulling out the tripod and setting the timer on the camera and Aaron racing to get in the picture. But at least we get everyone together. This year the picture turned out pretty good, escept I think the camera lens was a little dirty. Oh well.

I wrote a Christmas Letter to go in our cards this year...something I intend to do every year but have never done. This year I actually wrote the letter, but our printer is not working so it never got printed. Since I at least took the time to write one, I decided to post it.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends! We are so grateful for this time of year that we have to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We know he is God's Son and that he lived and died and was resurrected for us. We are so grateful for the many blessings we have in our lives, among them our friends and family. We sincerely hope this letter finds you well, both in spirit and physically, especially in these tough times. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
the Matthews Family

Here's a few highlights from our year!

Dad—got to become a world traveler and visit Abu Dhabi and Dubai with his job. He spent most of the year working a night shift. In October he accepted a new job in Michigan and we moved across the country.

Mom—Has started blogging, in her spare time, but has mostly stayed busy with the kids. She has also enjoyed developing other talents such as knitting, sewing, baking, and a few other crafty type things.

#1—Started the year with a hernia—he was excited to learn that word. The surgery went great. He also got to visit the dentist for the first time when he got his front teeth knocked out. They should come in normally. He turned 5 in Nov., and is anxiously waiting next year when he can start school. And he lost his first tooth the natural way just last week!

#2—survived the terrible twos. She has developed a love for shopping and all things girly. She is not happy unless she is wearing a skirt or a dress, and usually she has to wear a fancier one on top. We are hoping her hair can finally grow next year unimpeded by scissor accidents.
#3—has been busy trying to keep up with her brother and sister. She wants to do everything they do. She takes one nap a day, and is by far my best sleeper. She is picking up more words everyday, of which her favorite is, “No!” She is such a joy and keeps us smiling too!
